Holiday Creative Writing Inspiration Four

Christmas TreeMerry Christmas, everyone! I hope you’re all having a fantastic holiday, and are enjoying the festive season. Christmas can be a great source of inspiration for stories and poetry, whether it’s writing about the people you spent time with, the things you did over the holidays, or maybe even writing about a gift you gave or received. If you’re not sure where to start, you might like to try some of the ideas below.

  •  Write a poem about what you did on Christmas Day. Think about the five senses – what did you see, smell, hear, taste and touch? Can you use all of these in your poem?
  • Imagine you woke up on Christmas morning, and found something strange, that wasn’t a present, under the Christmas tree. What is it? Where did it come from? What will you do with it? Write for ten minutes and see what you come up with.
  • Imagine an alien visited earth on Christmas Day. What would they think of it? Write a story from the alien’s point of view, describing the things it sees.

Happy Writing and Happy Holidays!
