Brain Bunny Creative Writing Classes are coming to Kapiti! From term three, our fantastic tutor Shona will be teaching creative writing classes for 8-12 at the Te Newhanga Kapiti Community Centre on Wednesdays. Enrolments are now open for all term three classes. Enrol now or contact us for more information.
We’d like to give a big welcome to the newest member of the Brain Bunny team – Felicity Baker! Felicity will be taking over teaching the Churton Park afterschool class from term three.
Felicity Baker has been teaching for the last ten years and loves working with children. When she was younger, her short story “Barbeque Bites” won a creative writing competition for her “…creative and humorous account of an eventful summer holiday tale!” She remembers that her teacher had encouraged her to explore synonyms and creative words. She continues to use this creativity today and it keen to pass on her enthusiasm for creative and imaginative language.
As a lover of the arts, Felicity is passionate about music and all types of creative endeavours. She is a trained music teacher and musician, has a BMus, and thoroughly enjoys sharing music with all ages – especially children. She believes in educating rather than teaching, and disguises learning with the element of fun.
After a very busy term two, an even busier term three ahead, and with my play for young people How to Catch a Grim Reaper opening at Bats July 10th, Brain Bunny will be taking a break these school holidays. Our next holiday programme will be in October. Thank you for your understanding.
Happy Writing!
Helen
