Creative Writing Competition for Kids

To celebrate the launch of my new junior novel, There’s No Such Things As Humans, I’m running a creative writing competition for children.

In There’s No Such Thing As Humans, Grub is a little monster who is absolutely terrified of humans, especially the one his brother says lives under his bed. That got me thinking, what else could be hiding under the bed? A portal to another world? An ancestor’s diary? 14 socks missing their partners?

Write a story about finding something under a bed for your chance to win a book prize pack.

The Inevitable Update

As you may have already seen, we have cancelled our upcoming holiday programme. This was, of course, a sad decision to make, but I am immunocompromised and therefore in isolation, so it was unavoidable.

Book Launch: The World of Greek Mythology & The Trespassers Club

Join us for the launch of “The World of Greek Mythology” by Ben Spies and “The Trespassers Club” by Helen Vivienne Fletcher.

Both books are suitable for middle-grade readers, and we’ll be launching them in a fun-filled afternoon with activities for the whole family.

There’ll be face painting, crafts, a treasure hunt, colouring in competition, sausage sizzle and more! Drop in for a while, or stay for the whole thing.

18th November, 1.30-4pm, Raumati South Hall, Tennis Court Road, Raumati South – Kapiti Coast.

Parent and Child Workshop – Fundraiser for ADNZ

This parent and child fundraiser workshop is a special opportunity for children and caregivers to attend a creative writing class together.

All proceeds will go to Assistance Dogs New Zealand, to help them in their important work providing dogs to New Zealanders like me, living with disability.
